A FAMILY BUSINESS

Brothers, Fernando and Esteban Banús are from a family that has been major producers and distributors of international brands of spirits. They took over one of their Father’s distilleries located in the Canary Islands in 1993 where they researched and developed their proprietary process for the production of Blat vodka. They come from a Spanish family which has been distilling spirits since 1887.

For over 40 years the family company was the Spanish partner of Pernod and Bols and also made among others the following products: Tia Maria, Liquors Bols, Cynar, Pastis Pernod, Pastis Berger, Carpano PunteMes, etc. They were the exclusive Spanish Distributor for the above brands together with: Ballantine’s, Southern Comfort, Metaxa, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Asbach Uralt, Bommerlunder, Piper Heidsieck Champagne, etc. Cogrami S.A.E. made its own brands too and was the 4th largest spirits company in Spain, one of the biggest markets in Europe. A major part of the business was sold to Bols in 1989.
